Cherokee Country Club is a Private 9 hole golf course located in Cherokee, Iowa.
Cherokee Country Club golf course opened in 1916.
Many consider The Cherokee Country Club to be northwest Iowa's most challenging nine-hole course. The layout of the course and landscaping allow the natural weeds, wildflowers and beautiful habitat to coexist with lush green fairways. The contour of the course ranges from hilly to flat, giving the golfer a nice variety of play. A creek runs through the middle of three holes and sand guards two greens. Cherokee Country Club has two signature holes. The first signature hole is #4, a 179-yard, par 3, that requires a tee shot over a creek to the green. The second is #8, a 128-yard, par 3, which calls for a tee shot from the bottom of a mountain up to the green. The club personnel say if you don't reach the green in one shot on hole #8 the chances are you will get a bogie.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees the course plays to 3,143 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,857 yards.

the course is very difficult for anybody who isn't an avid golfer. The course got poor ratings from me in condition because there was recent flooding. I would have overlooked that except that when i called to ask about conditions they told me the fairways were water free.
